Bieber claims that the boyband chose to release their album on the same day as him to get more press

Justin Bieber has accused One Direction of hijacking his forthcoming album campaign by releasing their own album on the same day.
The pop star had previously hinted that he was unhappy with 1D’s decision to go head-to-head in a Snapchat video post in which he said: “The face you make when you come out with an album the same day as Justin Bieber.”
Now he has elaborated on his annoyance, claiming that the reason 1D chose the date was to get more press.
“They’re not really going on the road much, but we’re talking about them right now, so it gives them some promo, right?” he told New Zealand radio show Smash!. “So, that’s probably why they did it … I think it was strategy on their part because my release date was first. But whatever. It’s going to be fun. I’m excited to see what happens.”
Both albums are set to be released on 13 November. One Direction’s is to be called Made in the AM, and will be their first release since the departure of Zayn Malikfrom the band. Bieber’s album is likely to have the title Purpose after a picture emerged of the word tattooed on the singer’s stomach.
